A 'pencil' icon appears at the bottom of this post IF you are logged in.  Click on it to edit this post. When in the edit screen click on 'new post' to add a new post.

The background and layout can be easily changed, currently I have a desert contrasting with the green shoots of GRL.  And a bus, departing.  Very deep.

Once in edit mode you can add pictures, links etc easily using the 'Word' like horizontal menu above the text.  There is loads of Blogger help have a look here for example.
